TSJ DEEPDIVE
Warm up your Lactaid because it’s about to get creamy up in here.

That’s right. The Queens of Cream are coming to Seaport. The Museum of Ice Cream is hitting Seaport in 2024, bringing two floors of frozen frolics to your favorite neighborhood in Boston, and TSJ has the official scoop. Pun: intended.

The Museum of Ice Cream will feature 14 installations in the new location including an interactive history of ice cream, a sprinkle pool, the Hall of Freezers (whatever that is!), and a Fenway Park carnival (again, whatever that is!). Some edible, some not, and it’s up to you to find out which is which. The Museum of Ice Cream was founded by Maryellis Bunn and Manish Vora, now co-CEOs, in 2016.

In recent press release announcing the Seaport location, Vora stated "It was always a dream of mine to build a museum in Boston, so it’s an honor to celebrate two important elements of my childhood, art and ice cream, by opening Museum of Ice Cream in the city. We’re not a replacement for museums, but are instead a place where guests can forget the worries of the outside world, act like a kid, and dream that anything is popsicle."

She continued, "Our goal is that Boston locals and guests will visit the museum and break from the traditional experience, by saying ‘yes’ to jumping in a pool of sprinkles, sliding down a two-story slide, playing in a baseball-themed carnival, and perhaps even sipping on a pinktini."

How about that for journalisming? Quotes and all. I know - impressive. Stay tuned to TSJ to be up to date on any and all upcoming museum openings. And other things too.

The Museum of Ice Cream will open at 121 Seaport Boulevard next year

The OpenAI drama has officially hit TSJ.

No pictures of delicious food this time - our inbox blew up this weekend with requests to cover the Sam Altman/OpenAI drama that started on Friday night.

While we’re big fans of any drama, especially billion dollar, high stakes drama, Sam Altman is not a resident of Seaport, so we’ll defer to the experts on this one. Check out Morning Brew Daily’s recent pod for a great rundown on what has happened so far and what to keep an eye on!

Sam Altman was fired by the OpenAI board on Friday
