TSJ DEEPDIVE
TSJ is your go-to source for Snowport activities.
Snowport opens this Friday, so it’s officially time to schedule those curling sessions and warm up your mittens.
This year's Snowport, running from this Friday November 10th to December 31st, marks its fifth anniversary. The Holiday Market, featuring over 120 businesses, will showcase 30% newcomers and 60% local to Boston and New England. Shoppers can find a variety of items, and there's free gift wrapping during Small Business Saturday weekend. An outdoor dining space with 17 food and beverage concepts and holiday-themed bars adds to the wildly festive atmosphere. New activities for this year’s Snowport include a Crafting Corner, outdoor iceless curling, and evergreen trimmings at The Tree Market. The festival also includes tree lighting, Menorah lighting, Betty the Yeti sightings, igloos at the Envoy, and a New Year's Eve ice sculpture stroll.
Unsure when the market is open? When it closes? Shhhh. We’ve got you. The market will be open Monday through Thursday from 3pm - 8pm, Friday and Saturday, 11am - 9pm and Sunday from 11am to 8pm. From December 11th - 31st, the market will have extended hours from 11am - 8pm. Sunday through Thursday and 11am - 9pm. Friday and Saturday. The market will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and December 26th.

NEWS HIGHLIGHT
Big News gets new CEO.
TSJ isn’t the only news source out there, guys. Big News(letter) exists and its about time we addressed it. The Washington Post recently welcomed news industry veteran William Lewis as its savior, or rather, CEO and publisher. It seems the Post's recent financial woes and dwindling readership have prompted this change of leadership.
Purchased by Jeff Bezos for a cool $250 million back in 2013, the Post enjoyed a moment in the sun, boasting a whopping 3 million digital subscribers in 2020, but has since experienced a 28% drop in its digital audience and a subscriber base that has now slimmed down to 2.5 million.
Enter Bezos, who, after a hands-off approach for years, suddenly remembered he owned the paper and decided to intervene. In a heartfelt letter to the Post's journalists, he pledged his undying commitment to the paper's future—of course, while underlining the importance of turning a profit.
William Lewis, the man of the hour, has a resume that reads like a who's who of the news industry. Lewis aims to work his magic and make the Washington Post great again. His plan? To capitalize on the upcoming presidential election, featuring none other than Trump, and ensure Bezos doesn't regret his impulse buy.
Oh, the drama! Stay tuned to TSJ see if this tale of journalistic twists and turns can truly revive the Washington Post's fortunes.
