The Seaport Journal - 23rd Edition
Monday, March 25th
Happy Monday, TSJ readers! Welcome to the 23rd Edition of the undefeated Seaport Journal. Did you know…the number 23 has the unique property of being the smallest prime number which is not a ‘twin prime’ — meaning a prime number which does not have another one within two spaces of it on the number-line. Yes, we googled that, and yes, it’s not interesting in the slightest.
Alas…LET’S DIVE INTO IT!

TSJ DEEP DIVE
Everything whale be better soon…
Boston’s whale watching season has officially started! You may be wondering, “what?” So are we! But apparently, it’s a thing! And it’s a thing until November!
Courtesy of New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium’s whale watching tours are now officially open for business. The tours leave right from the wharfs near the aquarium, a quick jaunt from Seaport Boulevard. The aquarium is open Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm, and Saturday through Sunday it’s open until 6pm.
Now, we know a lot of you guys are dying to sneak more whale curriculum into your information diet…
The aquarium’s Simons Theatre currently features “Blue Whales: Return of the Giants,” a 45 minute film that explores all things blue whales, aka “the largest animal ever to have lived and a species rebounding from the brink of extinction.”
Until August 4th, Mass-native Wu Tsang is presenting an exhibit at the Boston ICA called “Of Whales.” Tsang is known for creating immersive installations with XR (extended reality) technology. Of Whales is inspired by the classic 1851 American novel Moby Dick. First presented at the 59th Venice Biennale in 2022, the exhibit now specifically references Boston’s whaling history at this location.
That’s it for today, Seaport gang. We dare you to forward this email to FOUR of your favorite Bostonian friends.
Sincerely,
TSJ
