TSJ DEEPDIVE
An ode to Dunkin Donuts.
Last night, the world watched as Boston icons Tom Brady, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon starred in Dunkin’s Super Bowl commercial. The ad is being heralded as the best of the bunch (No one likes you, Temu!), and earning a lot of press coverage. Dunkin even sold out of the track suits featured in the ad this afternoon. But here at TSJ, we dive deeper…

We’re bringing you a dozen fun facts on DD:
Inspire Brands acquired Dunkin in 2020 for $11.3 billion. That’s a lot of cold brews…
Dunkin offers an extensive range of beverage options: over 25,000 customization possibilities (spanning 12,500 locations across 46 countries).
Dunkin was founded in 1948 in Quincy, MA by William Rosenberg as Open Kettle, and the original location continues to operate today.
Dunkin sells billions of cups annually, surpassing 2 billion cups worldwide in 2017, which means approximately 60 cups are purchased every second.
Upholding coffee excellence, Dunkin relies on dedicated coffee experts who evaluate 200 cups daily, ensuring each brew meets their high standards, with approximately 2,000 beans needed for each pound of coffee.
In Spain, Dunkin is known as Dunkin' Coffee. This was our least favorite fun fact too.
Introduced in 1973, MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats utilize surplus dough and Dunkin sells ~1 billion of them annually. Munchkins are Dunkin’s Kingsford Charcoal.
Dunkin tailors unique donut offerings to each country, featuring international treats like wasabi cheese and seaweed cheese donuts in Singapore and mochi donuts in select Asian markets. Sounds awesome! (Sarcasm)
Dunkin commemorated the royal weddings in 2011 and 2018 with limited edition Royal Love Donuts. Rumor has it this is the reason Harry and Meghan no longer talk to the Royal Family.
Dunkin supports communities through the Joy in Childhood Foundation.
Celebrating athleticism and community spirit, Dunkin' partnered with Saucony to launch limited-edition Saucony X Dunkin’ Kinvara 9 running shoes in March 2018, embodying the ethos of "running on Dunkin'".
We had to end on a banger: the SNL Dunkin skit from 2014…

Earlier, I wanted to get the fact out the storm won't be as intense as predicted. I have tweaked a few things in the past hour after evaluating a bit more. Still possible areas south of Boston end up with a more sizeable storm, but obviously not what was thinking this morning.
